Linzi Harrocks

One of the leading instructors in West Sussex. Linzi has been a yoga practitioner for over 20 years, studying various forms of the discipline. Her true journey began when she discovered Astanga yoga. Under the guidance of renowned yoga teacher Brian Cooper, her teacher training continues. Having successfully completed a 200 hour teacher training diploma with Brian Cooper [2002] and attended yoga workshops with other world respected teachers including Anthony ‘Prem’ Carlisi, Heather Duplex, David Swenson, T.K.V Desikachar, Paul Grilley, Venkatesh, Russel Case, Gingi Lee, Liz Lark and many more, she learns from the best in their field and is humble enough to share her path and what works for her.
Having undergone two back surgeries after an accident in 2006, Linzi found her yoga journey took her to a completely different realm regarding her mind/body connection. After what could be perceived as going ‘back to square one’, she discovered her own rehabilitation and now helps others maintain strong spines, structural alignment, muscle imbalance and above all confidence through yoga and massage.
Her personal adventure is augmented with ongoing study, workshops, and retreats that she attends as often as time allows. Her immense interest in anatomy and physiology, plus her qualifications and ongoing work as a fitness instructor and massage therapist have intensified her coaching and motivational skills to a high degree.
A devotee to  Zero Balancing™, Linzi intends to join the certification programme after the birth of her third child in December 2012 under the loving guidance of Cassie White, a leader in this field. www.cassie-white.co.uk. (Linzi believes that everybody should experience a session with this amazing practitioner and teacher)
Workshops and retreats incorporating Yoga and Zero Balancing are being devised for Summer 2012, working alongside Cassie.
Linzi is a regular guest teacher for Sally Parkes on her popular retreats, teaching her brilliant yoga Nidra sessions. Check out www.sallyparkesyoga.com
All these ‘important’ qualifications, that the western world has introduced, in no way compare to life as a yogi; where integrity, compassion, understanding, and flexibility are far more important when looking for a teacher. The West is increasingly devising ‘mickey mouse’ yoga courses losing sight of the true practice of passing on an ancient art. A weekend course does not make you a yoga teacher – it is a life long study. This is why she no longer teaches for corporate gyms.
Linzi’s dynamic style of teaching incorporates elements of all her areas of expertise to enhance your well being. Her classes and one to one sessions promise to be inspirational, energetic, calming and above all fun!
